Paul Smith is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in French. Paul brings to KYP a wealth of international experience. He previously worked as a an international recruiter for the Chinese University of Hong Kong and as a business development consultant for Meltwater, a multinational software company. Paul’s insights on global education have been published in the South China Morning Post. He has also has appeared as a panelist at the American Chamber of Commerce and as a guest speaker with Jumpstart Media (in both English and Mandarin). Before moving to Hong Kong, Paul completed a year of intensive Mandarin studies at the University of Jinan (濟南大學) in China.
Paul has used this hands-on experience to develop several of KYP’s award-winning programs, including admissions consulting, Global Thinking, Model United Nations, and test prep.
Notably, while in university, Paul was a staff member at the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference held annually at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. He also held internships with Baltimore City Council in the U.S. and with Ubuntu Africa, an NGO specializing in the treatment of children with HIV/AIDS in Cape Town, South Africa.
