Creative Writing (Intro)

Introductory Creative Writing — Ages 8-9

Kids love creative writing because the possibilities are endless! With creative writing, kids can dive into the world of “What if”? In our exciting Creative Writing classes, students explore words and ideas, and learn how to craft a beautiful story. They will learn how to create vivid imagery, apply figurative language, and master the art of metaphor in their stories. They will also work on improving their diction, vocabulary, and grammar!

In the Introductory level classes, we get students into the habit of writing freely, confidently, and often. Students do creative writing activities and write short stories to learn about different genres of writing. Students will also learn about characterization, conflict, perspective, and other literary devices. Students will also work on improving the mechanics of their writing, specifically their grammar and vocabulary. With over nine years’ experience teaching younger kids, KYP teachers have developed a proven method that has helped thousands of young kids love and improve writing! Don’t miss this incredible class!
